A few quick cards!

Hi there! I hope everyone's weather is as nice as ours! Finally it is GORGEOUS out and I have to go back to work next week. I am just trying to enjoy it while I can!

Today I have a post up on the ScrapRoom blog. It is about making quick cards from your scraps. Here are the two cards I created using only scraps from the August Double Shot kit.

The ScrapRoom August Sketch Challenge

Hi there! How about sketch today to get you going? The monthly sketch challenge from The ScrapRoom is up on the blog. This month's sketch was provided by DT member Aphra Boyler.

And here is my layout based on the sketch. I used the Basic Grey "Out of Print" papers from the Double Shot kit.

All supplies from the August Double Shot kit and August embellishment kit except- pink letters (American Crafts), stamps (Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker) and ink (TPC studios Clearly Better Ink pad)

The Big Book of Scrapbook Pages

Yay!! I finally received my copy of this book! And it is a big book indeed. Lots and lots of amazing layotus to look at!

Here's my layout on page 201:



It's been so long I almost forgot about this layout! Especially since they have had it all this time too. If you want a copy you can order it from Amazon.com and I have heard Hobby Lobby is selling it too!

TSR sketch challenge

It's time for the monthly ScrapRoom sketch challenge and this month's sketch was provided by me!

Here is the sketch I created just for the ScrapRoom:

And here is my layout based on the sketch. I mixed up the two lines in this month's Double Shot kit- Basic Grey Sweet Threads and Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup. Tammy did such a great job putting this kit together. The two lines just look like they go together. And sorry for the glare! I was having photography troubles that day!

A few things...

Hi there, I have a few things for you today!

First up- a few cards I created with the ScrapRoom's June Double Shot Kit.

And second- if  you haven't already heard the always so sweet Nikki Sivils is coordinating a scrapbooking drive to benefit victims of the Joplin Missouri tornado. She is just the sweetest and I feel lucky to work for such an amazingly kind and generous woman. I already have a big box of supplies to ship of to here!

Today I have a layout to share that I created using the Basic Grey Sweet Threads in the Double Shot kit. The colors reminded me of Easter so I got out my Easter photos. Sure enough the colors match her Easter Eggs perfectly!

Everything on my layout is included in the kit except for the title, chipboard buttons (which are from the March Double Shot kit) and twine; and the brads and stickers are from June's embellishment kit. I also have another layout and two cards to share in The ScrapRoom gallery.

Hello weekend! (and a giveaway)

I am so happy it's Friday! I have had a loooong week. Lots of appointments for the girls and other stuff going on. I think I reached my breaking point yesterday when I took Frances, with Isabel in tow, to the ear doctor to check on her ear tubes. It usually takes about 5 minutes total. We check in, the nurse calls us, the doctor checks both of her ears and we are good to go. In fact sometimes it is too fast for Frances because there is this little table with coloring books and crayons and she just sits down to color and it our turn. Of course then the crying comes. Well yesterday it took us over an hour- just in the waiting room.

They kept telling me just a few more minutes and you know when you've waited for so long you hate to leave because you've already waited that long? So I stuck it out. And Frances was great just coloring away and amusing all the patients in the waiting room with the funny things she says. But... I was ready to take two kids home and get dinner ready.

To say hello to the weekend I have a hello card to share. I created this card with the March Double Shot kit and embellishment kit from The ScrapRoom.

The ScrapRoom March sketch

Here is the March sketch from the ScrapRoom. Frances did such a great job with this sketch! I love the butterflies around the page.

Each DT member did their own version of the sketch and all the layouts are so fun! I used the Basic Grey Marjolaine page layout kit from the double shot kit to complete my take on the sketch. This is Frances as a wee little baby. I can't believe these were taken almost two years ago! Time sure does fly by. She was so funny even back them. Always making faces and smiling at everyone. Those chubby cheeks sure helped in the cuteness department too. Isabel reminds me a lot of her right now. She is always smiling and laughing too.

Welcome to the ScrapRoom blog hop!

The first of the month is reveal day at The ScrapRoom and I have to say I am so excited to be a part of this team and can't wait to share the projects I have created with my first kit!

This layout I created about my little Isabel. I have wanted to use this title on a layout for while now and when I saw this picture I knew it would be perfect.

I got the inspiration for my design from the Basic Grey Marjolaine papers in the double shot kit. The papers I used below reminded me of a quilt so I went with that and you need some stitching on a quilt right? I chose hearts because they went with the title and I love them. There is a heart on every single one of my layouts. They may be big hearts or they may be small so that you have to look for them, but they are always there! I have also used the letter stickers and chipboard from the March embellishment kit and some letters from my stash. The pink gingham paper was also a small piece of paper I had in my stash.

 As you know we have lots of NEW things planned this month at The ScrapRoom Blog. And today will not disappoint! In celebration of our March kit, we are having our 1st ever BLOG HOP!! You know the way this works, right? Here is a list of the places you will be visiting...
