Quick Hair Clips and party favors!

EEEKKKK! And not because Halloween is coming before I know it! I can't believe it has been so so so long since I last updated this blog! Time has gotten away from me and I have to admit I have not created any projects in weeks!

At last things are finally starting to settle down and I created three layouts and two cards this last weekend. It felt good to break out my paper trimmer and punches again- hehe! I will share these projects with you soon, I promise!

So today I have some quick (very quick) hairclips I created with some of my leftover supplies. I cleaned out my scraproom and had a box of stuff waiting to be donated. Before dropping it off I thought- can I do anything with this? And so these clips were born. I made clips like this before with flowers and brads, but I am loving how the cute little felties look!

I used some plain metal clips I bought at Hobby Lobby. The ribbon is left over scraps of Bo Bunny ribbon and the embellishments American Crafts Flair. To create them trim the ribbon just slightly larger than the top of the metal clip. Apply a thin line of strong liquid adhesive (I used Beacon 3 in 1) to the back of the ribbon. Then adhere the ribbon to the metal clip folding the left over edges down underneath the clip. Then you can decorate the clips with more folded ribbon and the flair using the liquid adhesive.

To make cute party favors add a clip to a cellophane bag filled with candy and tie with a twist tie. Glue a paper flower to the front.

My little ray of sunshine

Here she is- my little ray of sunshine. I couldn't have asked for a happier, more content baby. She is always laughing and smiling and of course bringing sunshine whereever she goes. It only seemed fitting that I used American Crafts "Hello Sunshine" line for this sweet girl.

The August ScrapRoom Kits are UP!

Hi girls! I am excited to say that the August ScrapRoom kits are up on the blog. I love the summer themed pages and embellishents in this month's kits. I am just trying to hold to every last inch of summer I can! Now don't get me wrong, fall is my favorite season and I love everything about it, but I don't want to go back to school and leave my babies :(

One of my favorite lines is in the Flavors of the Month kit- American Crafts Campy Trails. I am an outdoors girl and this collections FUN!

I used the kit to create this layout of my little girlie Frances last summer on one of our hikes. This girl loves to play in the dirt and here she is playing and "tasting" the dirt, LOL!

Another new card

It's Tuesday and the weather outside is beautiful! I am lucky enough to spend the day with my two favorite girls and we are having so much fun! I hope everyone is having a great day too.

I have another card to share with you today made from American Crafts stash. The Dear Lizzy spring line was one of my favorites and I can't manage to throw any of my scraps away! The fun paper just makes me smile :)

Using some of my AC scraps

Hi there! I am back from CHA, well it was in my hometown so I really didn't have to go far :), and ready to scrap! After looking at all the projects and new product from the show I am inspired to scrap, scrap, scrap.

One of my favorite new lines that is a MUST HAVE for me is the American Crafts Amy Tangerine line. Swoon! When I saw it on their blog I was like it's OK...... But in real life, oh my, it is cute! I even got to meet the super cute Amy Tan herself. Here is a pic of (from left to right) Amy Tan, Katrina Hunt, and myself at the American Crafts booth.

This weekend I just had to break out my American Crafts stuff and create a few cards. I think I have used up just about every inch of this paper line now! Who says scraps can't make cute stuff? I made these two cards from my scraps.

a baby and a wedding

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great day!

First I would love to share these pictures of my sweet little Isabel with you! She turned 7 months old yesterday and she is just the cutest little thing. I can't believe this little princess is already 7 months old! It seems like just yesterday I couldn't wait to meet her.

And now for the wedding! My friend is getting married so I made her this card for her wedding shower. I used all my "extras" on it and I am really happy about how it turned out. Almost too happy to give it to her! Just kidding! Hehe!

The background papers are SEI Corrine from The ScrapRoom June Kit, the chipboard is Crate Paper Portrait from The ScrapRoom May Kit, the ribbon and rubons are American Crafts and the pink paper the butterflies are punched from is Pink Paislee. That Pink Paislee paper is my favorite from the Valentine's line two years ago. I am down to just a a quarter of a 12x12 sheet, but I won't throw it away!

Card Challenge and a {BIG} give away

Hello, hello and happy day! It is a bright and sunny day here so we are enjoying that. It is only 33 degrees, but to see the sun is amazing!

Today I have some cards that I made for the random wednesday card challenge at My Scrapbook Nook. The challenge this week is "Lovin' Some Stash". You can use whatever embellies you want, but your card must have two patterned papers that debuted before CHA 2010 summer.

For my cards I chose Lily Bee Hello sunshine, American Crafts Dear Lizzy, and Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday. These are three of my favorite lines so it was so fun to get them out again. Plus they remind me that spring is almost here which is always a good feeling.

Groundhog's day, Valentine's Cards, Feb. Pagemaps and more

Happy Groundhog's Day! Unfortunately our groundhog was snowed in it's hole under 18+ inches of snow this morning so I guess that means more winter for us :( My husband spent all morning clearing up the snow with our neighbors and now we are all inside enjoying our snow day. I hope your morning wasn't as snowy and messy as mine ;)

Today is Valentine's Card Day on the Bo Bunny blog. I made two cards to give to my little girls. This first one is for Frances. She is addicted to Pandas right now.

Yesterday I received the February Pagemaps newsletter in the email. I was super excited because the Nikki Sivils DT was asked to contribute for February and I was one of the lucky girls to create a layout. I received this sketch from Becky and I love it! I was so happy to be able to contribute I volunteered for any size. This was my first time making an 8 1/2 x 11 page, but I didn't mind because Isabel's baby book is this size. I created this layout for the front page of her book.

Lastly the other day I received this super sweet blog award from Paula, aka 'The Scrapbook Speedway'. I can't thank her enough for thinking about me and am more appreciative than she knows. You have to check out her blog too because she is one awesome scrapper!

Along with this blog award I am to tell 8 things about myself so here goes....

1. I love Chai Lattes. I could drink them every morning if they weren't so darn expensive.

2. I love to watch tv. My DVR is always at 99% though because unfortunately I have no time to watch tv.

3. My dream vacation is to go to Alaska. I will make there one day when the girls are older.

4. Pizza is my favorite food and I could eat it everyday. My favorite pizza topping? Pepperoni and spinach of course.

5. Frances was my grandmother's name and is also the patron saint of animals. I love animals and my grandmother took care of me as a little girl. That is where my Frances gets her name.

6. I am terrified of elevators. I will always take the stairs if I have a choice.
7. I go to bed around 9pm every night. I would go to bed earlier if I could, but Frances doesn't always cooperate.
8. I am only 5 feet tall. Yep, I am very short! The shortest in my family. Except for my Grandmother who was shorter than me.

Now I am supposed to pass this on to 8 other bloggers, but honestly I can't choose! So let me think about this a little more.

Quick Hair Clips

I made these quick (very quick!) little hair clips for my friend's daughter. I made some for Frances too, but she won't let me touch her hair so I don't have a picture of that! I didn't think much about them, but they are getting hits like crazy in my gallery!! Seriously like hundreds of hits a day. Sometimes it's the simplest things that get the most attention.

To make these I used American Crafts felt embellishments and Goody Hair clips. I wrapped a piece of fabric around the clip and then sewed the felt to the ribbon. Please don't judge me by my sewing skills! It does look a little rough in the picture above! But once the clips are in your hair you can't tell at all. And I couldn't just give my friend the clips so I made a little card to attach them to.

Monday's Sketch

I have been a little behind with posting (and creating with) the Monday sketch from Scrapbook Challenges- SORRY!!!

I think things got a little away from here with vacation and all the fun stuff going on in summer. So here it is- sketch 209 from Scrapbook Challenges:

And here is my take on the sketch. I didn't have four pictures I wanted to use on the layout so I omitted the two horizontal pictures from the sketch. Instead I used just two big vertical pictures in place of the two small ones on the sketch. Then I used the banner in place of the stitching from the sketch. And I love those new fabric thickers. The color and font was just perfect for this layout.
