The September ScrapRoom Kit

The September ScrapRoom Kit is now available! It is full of bright colors and very FUN embellishments.

I worked with the Double Shot October Afternoon kit this month. I have to say I don't have many travel pictures, but this kit was fun to work with. I love using papers and embellishments to tell the story behind my layouts and this map paper did just that!

supplies: The ScrapRoom Double Shot Kit (October Afternoon Boarding Pass papers, buttons and stickers) and Embellishment kit (American Crafts Amy Tangerine letters; Jillibean Soup Dutch Mustard Soup stickers); Other: American Crafts twine, Bo Bunny ribbon, Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker Stamp

Thanks for coming by!

Check out the NS blog

Good morning! I am up and ready bright and early today because we are taking Isabel for her four month doctor's appt. When I say "we" I mean Frances and I so I don't know how this is going to go! I told Frances she had to be a good helper today and that Isabel would need lots of hugs and kisses after her shots :) I can't believe how big and how fast my little Isabel has grown! She is almost sitting up now and loves to spit and blow bubbles all over everything. She just gets cuter everyday! And I think she will have curly like me. Look at how it stands up all over!

There's lots of inspiration from Nikki Sivils DT on her blog today. I am still loving the new lines! I created this card using my cricut wild card cartridge and the "It's Raining, It's Pouring" line. It reminds me spring!

I also have this "older" layout that I never posted for some reason. I used a mash up of October Afternoon and Nikki Sivils "Tree Love".

Have a great weekend everyone!

A new challenge and some new Bo Bunny!

I have two things to share today!

First my October challenge is up at Treasured Scrapbooking. For October I challenge you to use all those stamps you have hidden away! I pulled out an old baby stamp set that I love for this card. I used water color pencils to color in my baby and then a dove blender pen to blend the colors together. I love water colors because they are so easy to use (you can erase if you make a mistake) and I can buy a whole box for the price of one marker.

And second Bo Bunny is releasing their new lines this weekend! Two are already up on the blog and there be another tomorrow. Here is a little sneak peek of the two new lines:

Midnight Frost

Crush

To see the complete collection and a chance to win both of these lines before they hit the stores go to the Bo Bunny blog and leave a comment!

A few new challenges

The first of the month always brings lots of new challenges! So without further ado here are a few (hey that rhymes too!)...

My August challenge for Treasured Scrapbooking is to create a trifold card. I thought of this challenge because I have never made a trifold card and wanted to try it. So I guess I can say I challenged myself too-LOL! If you upload your cards to the TS gallery and forum you will be in the running for a gift cared to teh TS store.  Here is the sweet, simple card I came up with (and you can find it in my Etsy store soon too!):

And I also have a color challenge at Simply Obsessed. My challenge for August is use the colors blue and yellow. I chose to use the BRAND NEW Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker line "Blueberry Hill". I just love how fun and bright this line is. And as much as I love Blueberry Hill, it's not even my favorite! Have you seen "My Friend Birdy" yet or "Tree Love"?? Or "Something for Everyone"?

If you upload your layouts to the Simply Obsessed gallery and forum you will be in the running for a gift card to the SO store. Here is mine:

Thanks for looking!! And Please check out the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog on August 5th. I will be the guest blogger for the day!

New Challenges...

A new week brings new challenges at Scrapbook Challenges!!

This week's sketch is a two-pager designed by the very talented Pamela Young.

And there's also a new challenge hosted by three of the DT members, myself included. My challenge is to scrapbook 4 or more photos in a rectangular grid pattern. Here is my example:

And I just received an email today from the super nice Nikki Sivils herself. There was a mix up on the blog yesterday and my projects will be posted on March 21st. Oh the agony of waiting another week!!!! I kept stalking the blog yesterday (hehe). The willow bee collection is one of my favorite lines ever and my projects are my favorites. I can't wait to share them!!!

And in other news Chicken Pox has made its way to Frances's school. We are crossing our fingers that she doesn't get it! We have a lot planned for spring break and staying home with chicken pox isn't part of the plan.

Have a great St. Patty's day tomorrow. I will be eating some corned beef and cabbage and drinking a green river. Yummy!!!!

New "Scrapbook Challenges" Challenges :)

Hey there everyone. This is one tired mommy here! Frances is walking everywhere and getting some of those pesky back teeth in so she is crying and drooling all over. Poor little girly. I did get a little break last weekend when I went to my favorite all day crop. I got lots done, but I can't show you everything....... yet :) Stay tuned I will post it soon! Here are some new challengs from Scrapbook Challenges that I can post. Please come play along with us this month. There are some fun challenges and you have still time to get them done to be eligible for the super cute Nikki Sivils stuff that will go to one lucky participant.

And speaking of Nikki Sivils.....

My challenge for January is the "Mix it up" challenge. I took the super cute Nikki Sivils paper (which is all boy) and turned it girly  with some pink carstock and embellishments for my sweet Frances. My challenge is to mix up some boy paper to make it more feminine (or girl paper to make it more masculine).

And here is Pamela's new sketch and my take on the sketch. It is labeled sketch 183 on the forum. So funny story here- I wanted to paint my kitchen green. My husband kept saying are you sure you want green? I kept saying yes. So green it is. And I hate it. Really, really hate it. And the worst part? Now all my pics of Frances in her high chair are bright green (exhibit A below- 'nuff said.). I don't want to say anything to my husband though because I know he'll say he was right about the green. So now my kitchen is green. Permanantly.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you at Scrapbook Challenges. Good night.
